Alan R. Hecht has been a member of the Florida Bar for 34 years and has been in his own A V rated law practice for the past 25 years. Mr. Hecht's expertise in taxation is founded on his background as a Certified Public Accountant having practiced for ten years before practicing law. He worked for several of the 'Big Eight' accounting firms in their tax departments, attaining the level of senior tax manager at Coopers and Lybrand before joining the law firm of Fine, Jacobson, Block as their sole tax partner. His extensive knowledge or real estate comes, in part, as general partner and developer of various real estate properties in the South Florida area.
Mr. Hecht has been admitted to The Florida Bar (1974), The New York Bar (1983), the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida (1979), the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit (1981), the U.S. Tax Court (1979). In addition, he has been admitted as a Certified Public Accountant in New York (1972) and Florida (1979).
Mr. Hecht graduated from Pennsylvania State University, Cum Laude, with a B.S. in accounting,1969 and earned his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law, with Honors, 1974.
Mr. Hecht is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, New York Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Association of Attorneys - Certified Public Accountants, and Greater Miami Tax Institute.
Rachel S. Hecht graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Magna Cum Laude, with a B.A. in English, 1994, earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1997 and became a member of the Florida Bar that same year. She was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 2001. Ms. Hecht was an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County for three years after which she continued as an aggressive litigator in private practice.
