Mr. Hecht has been a member of the Florida Bar for 25 years and a sole practitioner for the past 17 years. He has represented individuals, professionals, businesses and corporations in all aspects of tax planning, tax matters before the Internal Revenue Service including tax audits, Offers in Compromise, and tax litigation before the U.S. Tax Court, trusts and estates, acquisition and leasing transactions, general corporate matters, real estate and commercial litigation.

Mr. Hecht’s expertise in taxation is founded on his background as a Certified Public Accountant having worked for several of the Big Eight Accounting Firms in their tax Departments, attaining the level of senior tax manager at Coopers and Lybrand. In addition, he was the sole tax partner of Fine, Jacobson, Block when he was a member of that firm. His extensive knowledge of real estate comes, in part, as general partner and developer of various real estate properties in the South Florida area, most notably the renovation of the old El Comodoro Hotel a/k/a the Taj Hotel into a modern Miami office building now known as the BankAtlantic Building located at 33 S.W. 2nd Avenue.
